    airbrush splatter :RAGE:

hey guys, i have reached the end of my rope on this one. i have a H&s evolution solo AB, when i spray i get spray EVERYWHERE. little droplets get flung in a halo arround where im trying to spray and its TOTALLY ruining anythingim trying to do that i dont mask. trying to freehand the camo pattern on my 109 i have totally ruined the finnish i startee with. im now going tobeforced to strip the after part of the fuz as luckily i split it into sections for the purposes of painting so its only messed up the tail section...

my AB has the 0.2mm nozzle and im using the vallejo model air paints. i tryed thinning them more, i tryed adding washing up liquid to break the surface tension, theres no damage to the brand new needle and its about as clean as its ever likely to get. would getting a different nozzle help me or am i just doing something wrong?

thanks in advance guys, its driving me nuts

I'm not familiar with your particular brush but there are a few things to double check. Go through the entire head assembly and make sure everything that should be tight is tight. Double check your needle. I don't know what your nozzle looks like but I'd have a good look at it under a magnifier.

Finally a question. If you start the airflow with the needle fully forward (i.e. no fluid flow) does any appear at the business end?

Hopefully someone who is familiar with the H+S brushes will be along with some less "generic" advice for you.

    Cheers

Just taking a guess here, but is the air pressure enough to "atomize" the paint?

Ok to start is the tip clear and clean inside ? needle not bent ?

next make sure there are no bubles comming up into the paint better still use water on cardboard.

also the sealing mech for the fluid tip means yah have to make sure it is well nipped up of screwed on as its a ptfe seal.

Also try some real coke a cola and leave it in tip taken appart just in vase xmall bits of dirt

Don't pull the trigger back too quickly, remember the golden rule start with air - finish with air. Start spraying off the model. Your symptoms can also be a result of the paint being too thin or the air pressure is too high. If I were you I would use the 0.4mm needle. The 0.2mm gives great results but is temperamental with certain paints. Cheers Derek

What pressure are you spraying at? You usually find that good make ab's like H&B, Iwata & Badger prefer lower pressure about 15-20psi

it seems to vary, it might be that the model air paints are a bit too thin :/

i cleaned it out which kinda helped. i have noticed that i get alot of tip dry.. ALOT, also im spraying at between 20-30, so that could be a problem.

when you guys suggested more cleaning i took the AB TOTALLY appart and cleaned some areas like the tipguard from behind. however i think getting the bigger nozzle to see if i can get it working with that

              thanks for the help guys.
