        BIGWING Spitfire

        Hi Guys,

Just come across old conversation about the BIGWING

        Spitfire airframe kit. (25/03/2005)

        To answer the points raised.

We are a new company and at the moment the Spitfire

is the only plane in the range.

However we are working on Bf109, Hurricane, Mustang

and Mosquito. (all on to do list)

All the parts are accurately cut using high pressure water.

There is no soldering involved. All parts are secured using

industrial strength superglue. ie Loctite 496 (for metals)

applied using point of pin for neatness.

Construction is very similar to old balsa models but there is

plenty of scope for builders to put their own stamp on the

        finished look.

I have tried without success to add a photo showing you

a modified plane . (extra fretwork on the tail and ribs drilled)

I will add it to my web site for you to see.

Finish is a matter of taste.

Lacqured, part painted, plated or just left natural to darken

        with age.etc etc etc

Any othere questions please let me know.

                wow that looks well cool

                i would love one

but being a student has its tolls of not having money and when you have it you have not much of it

maybe in the near future i will get one to build

edit: it would be nice to see a lancaster in the production line

It`ll never fly...! Seriously this is a great idea. I hope it has great success on the market. A cert for the next plane would have to be a Supermarine S6b racing seaplane. The pioneering era is also a natural, with the open framework of Bleriots, Wright "Flyer"s and so on. What great trophies for aviation events. For the magnum opus ... a Zeppelin !!!!

                      Slap,

Firstly welcome to the scale models forum. We tend to be a friendly group who share our jokes, experiences, chat and anything else we care to think of on a regular basis.

If you notice that thread is now quite an age and I don't think that any of us would necessarily expect the generous offer by BigWing to be of an indefinate length. I would suggest that you send them a PM and ask what thier thoughts are.

Please feel free to also post your own experiences as the success of forums such as this rely on contributions from its members as well as what people want to get from it.
