This is a Matchbox kit I did when I was around 12. My mother had apparently kept it of all these years (I’m 38 now) cos she gave it to me now that I re-entered the hobby.
Having just bought an airbrush and a few paints, I decided to do a restoration of it, to test out my new equipment and try some colour mixing. I didn’t think of taking any before-pictures of it, so I can’t show any. Try and picture this in your mind though; flash hadn’t been cleaned, canopy was broken and smeared in glue, putty was sanded with something that looked like 50-grit sandpaper and Humbrol Enamels where used to “smooth” the scratches, panel lines where gone.
Stripping 20+ year old Humbrol enamel was a real pain, but off it went. Glued the thing back together and tried my luck on some panel scribing and a bit of detailing. Here’s how it turned out:

Some fuel lines added to the engine:

Antenna and cross-hair in the iron-sight made from my girlfriends hair (she now has a stake in this hence letting it stay on display in the living-room, neat trick huh?)

Painting script and round markings in stead of using decals was a lot harder than I though, but it was fun trying, so I can live with the way they look.

Thanks for stopping by - happy modeling!
