    Aussie war memorial Bf109

I dragged SWMBO up to the above memorial in Canberra. It's a very impressive memorial combined with something like the IWM in London. She actually quite enjoyed it. I wanted to see their Bf109G-6 and take some piccies. It is the only 109 in the world still in it's original 74/75/76 scheme. Sadly it was a bit dark in there and the flash makes the colours in my piccies distinctly off. It's fixed in my memory but you'll just have to Google it.....Sorry.

    Cheers

It also sports a very nice Erla hood for those who want a reference for that.

It was a bit further south than Bristol then. Good to hear from you Steve, look forward to the pictures when you get back.

      Hi Steve,

Glad to hear your having a good time. Their are some great museums around. I was at one up here not long ago that is next to an army base. They have some really great stuff. Even WW1 aircraft. LOL. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

      Cheers

Here is a link to this amazing aircraft, about as natural and as far from 'restored' aircraft you will see.

think if I had sprayed one of my kits like that, I would be stripping it off and starting again lol, wonderful to see such a thing.

And credit to the Australians for NOT stripping it and repainting it,however well meaning the attempt. They do a lot of things rather well here!

I got some odd looks whilst examining it,muttering to myself "Mmmm Regensburg built I'd say, looking at that camo" etc.

            I'll get me anorak.

            Cheers
