    Italeri 1/72 La-5 an oldie i think

Came with its own unique challenges, a missing tail part and decals that wanted to curl up when applied but still an enjoyable build

The left rear tail piece i "crafted" out of plasticard and milliput. at a glane you can hardly notice

Thats a cracking build Wayne, considering the problems you overcame to get to the end.

Just a quick question, is the camo right, thought it should be gray/green or green/brown not gray/brown. Not that I know my La-5's, just doesn't seem right.

    5 stars nonetheless mate.

    Tony.

Looks good Wayne. Another old kit still being built, fantastic stuff. Tony, have a look at this page for a rough guide to Soviet WW2 camouflage: Guide to Soviet Aircraft Camouflage

        Hi Tony

I just went off the kits instructions which said Tan and green. It does look a little grey but its revells drab olive which looked closest to what the box said out of what i had available.

        Thanks everyone

Sorry if the post sounded like a criticism, wasn't meant to be, it's probably my screen, the drab olive looks gray on it.

Thanks for the link to the reference site Joe, I have a Yak 9 in my stash that this will a really useful.

          Tony.

no, dont worry about it Tony.

I know my builds are far from perfect and welcome any criticism.

Looks very nice, Wayne. I can't tell the tail part has been crafted. To me, the two modelling words which fill me with dread are' scratch' building.' Nice weathering too.
