    Digital camouflage on aircraft.

The Indian Airforce is claiming to be the first to apply so called digital camouflage to its attack helicopters.

It certainly makes your eyes water.

I won't be attempting this anytime soon

    Does it work?

    I think it does.

    Cheers

        Hi Steve.

I thought I'd seen a 'plane at one of the shows with digital camo. Must have been this one:

Academy 1/48 Russian MIG-29AS Fulcrum - Slovak Air Force Digital Camouflage | eBay

Not sure if this was real or just proposed.

Think Polux needs to look at this one. If he can do Tartan on a plane, this should be no problem Lol

Don't think I'll be attempting it :death:

Hi Dave, I wouldn't know either,it looks pretty good though. The Russians have had some nifty schemes in the past.

I was surprised at how effective the Indian version is. The stills are from a video which also shows the same type of helicopter painted black and the difference is substantial.

I was well impressed with the kit I saw. I'm guessing that it uses decals - much like the ones you see on the WWI German 'Lozenge Patterns' - 'cos I can't see how you could mask it that accurately.

I believe that the Slovak airforce have some digital Migs. I read that the firm that designs them are Canadian.

I think that it could be done at a larger scale with careful planning and masking rather than decals.....and no,that doesn't mean I'm volunteering to have a go

Ooh. After my recent "What if" build this looks like a challenge...I like it.

Anyone know what type of chopper it is?

Criky and I thought my UHU German plane was hard to airbrush
