        Just beware, this site with the pix is extremely addictive! I have only gone through about 5 pageg and everytime I think "darn this is eating allot of airtime" I get to thinking, "just one more page !"

        I was particularly interested in seeing the extreme weathering and fading on some of the Naval aircraft.

        Amazing how small that carrier ceck looks where the two Helldivers pass over!!!

        Happy you find it interesting aswell

                  I've just recapped on the US link and had a look at the British jobbies ......

                  There's been loads of comment in various threads on here about how aircraft were kept pristine, and how you shouldn't weather your model aircraft too much .... these pictures show that a good percentage of aircraft were in fact as beat up as some of the AFV.

                  If you take the time to look through you'll see that the camo patterns weren't all perfect, there was lots of shabby hand painting going on and there's even some difference to colour (all be it differing shades of greyscale) in similar aircraft.

                  It's all here ... literally ... in black and white .

                          Only just seen this thread, amazing pics theuns thanks! Loving the airfix style rivets on the dauntless and the pic of the guy crammed into the nose of the b26 marauder ,having a fag, is priceless! cheers tony
