1/72 resin parts for kit improvement

    Hi all

can anyone share any advice on a build that I am about to start. I had an early Christmas gift of am Airfix 1/72 Tomahawk. Fuselage and wing mouldings look good but detailing is awful.

Cockpit, pilot, wheel bays, undercarriage need improving. Can anyone suggest parts that might be compatible with the Airfix kit? I've used a bit of Airies 1/48 stuff in the past but never tried 1/72. Any thoughts on fitting and painting these things?

    Thanks and merry Christmas!

Hi phil , I know that you can get aires wheels and a pavla seat in resin but i dont know about anything else in the aftermarket , there probably is something but it might start to get a bit costly!! Another option is to get the AML kit for about £13 AML's 1/72 P-40 Tomahawk I, this has in it a P.E. fret and loads of resin details as well as the aircraft kit , this might work out cheaper than adding lots of separate sets to the airfix kit , cheers tony

Hi Tony, thanks. The AML kit does look very good, but the problem is I had the Airfix kit as a gift, so I have to make it. i'll just use it as a practice kit as I normally build 1/48 - I'm not sure my fingers are steady enough for 1/72. I think I'll get a decent replacement pilot and some wheels. I'll post some pics in the New Year when I've started it.
