    Weathering help please

The Anson I'm building has raised detail that I would like to highlight but in a subtle way.Dont think a panel wash will work.id thought of dry brushing with slightly darker tones of the camo colours. Not sure what to do with the silver underside.Any advice please?.

How about artist's oils Dave?? Just a suggestion from stuff I have read, not from knowing anything

little bit of oil paint mixed with a fair old bit of white spirit makes a great wash and it will still run around the panel lines.

I have used this technique on some of my builds and it works great, a mixture of black and burnt umber or burnt sienna with white spririts in it to make a wash. I would paint the whole area in it and then drag a small cloth pad soaked in spirits to drag it in the direction required.

I've got some black and some burnt sienna oil paint which I haven't used yet.So his may be an opportunity to try it out.

Thats great, just add enough black to get the colour you want, You can always add another darker wash if you need to.

Once the white spirit has evaporated you will see the proper effect.

I suppose I will have to leave it a few days after doing the wash before I give it the final matt clear coat?.
