RAF Ground Crew set

As I am building my 1:48th Lancaster I was wondering if I should put some figures around it, I'm mainly thinking of doing one of the engines open and depicting work been done on it. So I need a ground crew set, I have seen that Revell do one set and was wondering if these figures would be accurate to the setting/period this is the item I have seen

Apologies Adrian I missed your pointer. Yes that is the one.

Torsos heads arms & legs all over the place. Put together the figures in the configuration you want, sitting standing kneeling. Even climbing ladders. Dogs bombs & trestles. Nice set. Great instructions with a very graphic discription of the colours of uniforms & equipment.

Found it makes a lot of difference to a display the main one giving a great idea of the scale of the aircraft compared to a human being.

Obviously Adrian you did not realise that the RAF is teaming with ladders & groundstaff climbing them. They are rampant.

I've ordered the Revell and Eduard set, on a slight side note I was looking for some 1:48th paratroops from D-day that weren't in combat poses, I need em for a huge diorama I am doing anyone got any pointers?

I used the Revell RAF ground crew in their original packaging from ICM in my Battle of Britain diorama a couple of years ago (here: http://www.scale-models.co.uk/planes-helicopters/12446-1-48th-scale-battle-britain-diorama.html) and they are very good figures, well sculpted and with excellent detail. I also have the Eduard figures and these are not so good, very ugly moulding, not very good poses, very little sense of detail or dynamism, unlike the ICM figures which zing with life and action. The Red Setter is an added bonus!
