Most annoying !

Today I started a new build the Airfix 1/72 buccaneer and opening the box I knew it was just a rebox of the one I built of a kid but that didn't bother me so much but it seems it's worse than I remember , I've had to super glue the top and bottom of the fuselage and fill every join also file down the over hang of the top section

Now I have to add more filler to the tail to build it up at it's way too big I'd estimate about 2mm all the way around.

Funny enough though I'm enjoying it

Well these 'shake and bake' uber-kits don't provide the satisfaction a modeller can get from fixing some problem or other and making it look right.

Yep, enjoy the experience Alan. I love those old kits, such satisfaction from getting through the issues along the way.

I think they should make it "law" that a kit maker state on the box that it is a new tool or a re-box! I have also fell into that trap with their 1/72 Mk1a Huricaine :-(

Now before I buy I read a few online reviews.

I always try to research a purchase first to see what I am buying.

Unfortunately some kits are still only available in the old moulds, so unless you want to do battle with filler any sandpaper you have to wait for a newer one and be prepared to pay the extra ££s.

Thing is I think I've been spoilt by the new techniques that are available today so I lack the experience of doing this kind of build and this is one of my favourite aircraft so if I can make a good job of this then I will be very happy

It's one thigh to build a kit that needs little effort to build but building a pig of a kit and making it look good is something special

I've decided to show just how bad a fit the tail section is as you can see it comes pretty far up the fuselage
