Raised Panel Lines?

I need to put some raised panel lines back onto a model I'm building, this is new to me as I'm normally scribing them in not raising them.

The kit is a 1:48th A-10, after gluing the fuselage together and sanding down the top spine I need to redo some of the lines, so how do I do it?

Check out this thread Adrian, where I offered some alternatives to Wendall for his Sea Harrier's lost raised panel lines. Colin's solution is probably simpler and more effective though, as usual I went in deep and technical

Hi Ade. I'm sure there's a thread on here somewhere where a guy uses very fine wire/human hair drawn through a small puddle of glue then stretched over the kit.

I was shown (many moons ago) a technique for replacing raised lines using finely stretched sprue, laid on like the wire or hair above. The advantage of sprue is that running your cement along it will bond it seamlessly to the rest of the model.

Caveat! I've never tried it myself but the theory seems good to me.

Ive used fishing line before Adrian , fixed with thin cement (actually cellulose thinners , its all I use ) I used it on the Saab j21 a while back. It helps to scrape off the damaged line back to the nearest perpendicular line (ooh ,big word!) and so replace the whole damaged panel line rather than overlaying bits on top of the half sanded ones.
