1/8 D Type Jaguar scratch build

This one is a scratch build.....

Sorry there hasn't been much in the way of a WIP.....

Here's where I'm at so far.

The car will eventually have a complete engine/chassis/interior.

    Roy.

      So far...

      Interior parts being test fitted.

Seats are made from Fimo, covered in thin leather.

The dash is thick ply with plasticard detail, home printed gauge faces and wire bezels.

      Interior tub made from plasticard.

All the rivets are applied one at a time using hobby 'lead' windows paint from a fine nozzle tube.

      Roy.

            I'll watch this too.

How did you make that complex body shape?

              Many thanks all you guys......

The body was carved in wood/car filler/sanded down etc - then vac formed.

No, I don't have a vac former, but as they used to say - 'But I know a man that can'......

The advantage with it is if anything is spoiled during the build, it's not too big a problem to make another part.

                A bit more....

Decals printed and ready for future use and final gloss top coats applied to the body.

Steering wheel made from 1.5mm Ally and a cast resin rim.

The interior parts are only test fitted so far.

                More to follow....

                Roy.

                      A bit more so far.

Interior test-fitted, and then fixed in place minus the seats....

Firewall built up and the engine frame has been started.

                      So far, so good.......

                      Roy.

What are the shiny parts made of/finished with? Aluminium sheet, or foil?

Also, you photos are really good, sharp, clear and well-lit. Expensive camera?

                            Many thanks you guys....

The bulkhead is a mix of BMF and cut-up coke cans.

                            Camera????

I have a Nikon D3200 just set on Auto. No special lighting or anything.

                            Just point and click.

Er.. what is BMF? Here is a selection from 70 meanings from the Internet!

                              Acronym Definition

BMF Bundesministerium der Finanzen (German: Federal Ministry of Finance)

BMF Blowin' Money Fast (Rick Ross song)

BMF Bundesministerium für Finanzen (Vienna, Austria)

                              BMF British Motorcyclists Federation

                              BMF Black Management Forum

                              BMF Business Master File

                              etc ........

I have had good results with my Nikon D3100 which is broadly the same but with fewer pixels.
