    BMF....

    Bare metal foil.

A kind of very thin self adhesive aluminium foil. Especially made for modelling.

Below are pics of the Revell McLaren I built - all the body was covered in BMF....

Also the little Airfix 1/72 Mustang - again, all BMF'd.

        The current state of play.

I had to re-do the front passenger side firewall and pontoon as it was wrong - lots of Dremel, drilling, sanding etc.....

The main frame is taking shape and some of the basic brake plumbing is sorted.

The number decals went on as I was bored waiting for other bits to dry.....

Also, a few pics of the 'Browns Lane racing division'.......

        Roy.

I love seeing you're work and am always amazed. I couldn't even dream of scratching anything as beautiful as that, and all of your cars, just stunning a true master of your media. I know from your other builds this will be special. I am eager to see the final article (but don't rush on my account ) great work Roy.

Stupendous! I looked at your gallery but it was empty. It would be good to be able to see other models that you have made.

                  A bit more done.....

Some more to the front frame, I made my own oil tank and filler cap, battery and brake system.....

The front 'A' arms are in, hubs and I've cast my own resin 'Dunlop' wheels. It's getting there.

Starting on the rear end now.

                  All good fun.

                  Roy.

                      More on the rear....

I've added a simplified rear suspension but it is based on the D Type.

I didn't want to go too overboard as once built, the car will be fixed to a plinth so it won't be seen anyway.

Rear wheels and spinners now added.

                      Roy.

Did you scratch build the engine as well. Truly incredible, if you did. And what about the tyres?
