Great stuff Marc. I think the scouring on the discs does improve the realism of them.
I tried using a drawing compass with a knife installed but the compass broke (was only a cheap one) so i did it freehand in the end and i suppose i should have waited and picked up a better one to get the score marks accurate, which is why im not overly pleased with the results.
Just a bit of fun. Yesterday I ran out of clean thinners to mix up some silver metallic for airbrushing the wheels. So I made a jack out of the scrap bits of plastic from the kit so when the car is finished I can decide to display the vehicle with a wheel off.
Wheels airbrushed and clear coated, tyres dressed. Main coat gone down on body and bonnet, I then snapped one of the bonnet hinges as I was soft colour sanding, so now I have opted to remove hinges and have a bonnet that can be completely removed instead. (Flipping heck)
Started going on a 3000 lapping paper removing more inperfections on the way ready for topcoat and clear coat.
Think I'm going to take a break now for a while. Be back to in in a week or so.
Well I couldn't keep myself away from the kit. I started on the door panels. I tried that humbrol masking fluid. Not all that impressed with it to be honest took two days of corrections and clean up only to start again with masking tape anyway.
Here is a test fit pic.
Also had to sort our a body fit issue about an hour of filing varying parts of the chassis in order to make it fit without having to bend the body so much it nearly snaps.
