Quick update, was going to put a varnish on it today, ready for decals tomorrow, but alas, i dropped it and the bonnet fell off, Doh!!..... So i chucked a few F's at it,and had a little sulk..... No real damage done, just needed re-glueing, so will carry on again tomorrow

Hahaha. That happened to me on the golf build. One thing my dad always taught me, if you drop your work, don't try to catch the model let it drop stand back and carefully check the area for parts. If you try to catch the model you can do more damage to it then letting it drop, you can crush it in your hands tying to stop it from falling.

Good advice, Luckily its was only the shell, and the only bit that could fall off did, annoying more than anything else..... New rule..... Stay Calm & Carry On

Post up a few pics Amos so we can see, it'll help ........ My immediate thought is maybe some reaction. What is the car painted with and what "Varnish" have you used ???? .......... i.e enamels / acrylics ????

I used a halfords plastic primer, then acrylics, my varnish is a Windsor & Newton acrylic gloss varnish.... To be honest, think I'm going to have to strip it back to plastic... I'm distraught.

Id rub it smooth Amos with 400 grit. Don't worry about taking right back to bare plastic your going to run the risk of deforming the body too much.

Mist the body with an enamel primer 600 grit sand after that, two coats of Matt black using enamel, and very lightly sand again using 1000 grit. Then go to clearcoat let cure, toothpaste it, then polish with autoglym.

Don't forget to wash the body between every stage of paint and sanding. I found washing the most important. Don't be tempted to undo your work, always rectify. And don't use a paint stripper the bodyshell is only polystyrene youl melt it.
