Okay so I'm not sure if it's been effective, can't really see it in artifical light but it looks alot more realistic than it would have. What do you think?

The grey panel is the what colour the leather is going to look like.

Hahahha let's hope so. I started masking all the interior bits and bobs. Then after that it's an order from zero paints and a new spray gun.

Thank Polux. Work has been flipping busy. I mixed up my paint for this bit over a week ago, and it started to clump. So it took me 40 mins of thining and filtering to get it airbrush ready. Here is the result. The artificial light doesn't represent the colour in its true form but you can see from the test bit I did over a week ago that the colour is close enough.

Looks nearly spot on. Your colour temperature on the camera is out a wee bit and so is the the other one, in opposite directions so they may well be very close. If your happy, who cares?! Looks good to me.

Masking off. Popped the seats haven't glued them yet in I might satin coat the seats and dash to enhance the leather finish.

                        Thanks buddy.

Trying to decide how many coats of satin I'm going to go for on the seats the door cards and dashboard. On the reference pic the seats have a slight sheen on them and the rest of the interior is quite matt looking. I'd imagine the door cards to be a little more shiney due to surface wear also but again a nice matt finish suggests leather that has just been fitted and not worn so I have done three samples 1 2 and 3 coats to see what looks best starting from bottom test bit to top.

I like how much effort your putting into this. I can't make an opinion on the sheen as I don't know anything about the original but a very soft sheen would be like most leather.

Brilliant choice of colour and the grey upholstery to go with it will look perfect. Glad you went for that shade of blue, rather than a darker shade and it wouldn't have suited yellow. I have one of these kits in my stash and I think I will use the same colour, when I get round to building it.

Yeah I think im just going to go with the 1 coat. And I'll mask off the sides of the seat and just apply it to the seating surface.
