Why is it I seem to be able to ruin even the best of kits, I thought this was going to be one of my best (spraying always seems to be my achillies heal and this was perfect) but it's gone down hill since then, I am so cross I could hurl it in the bin, it is taking super human will not to, the doors don't fit well (that's why the doors are open) the chrome trim won't stay straight yet another kit ruined, and I thought I was over my bad spell, I recon I've got the bad modeler gene.

I think it's looking great Ken and I'm certain once you add the last few missing parts it'll be a cracker mate.

Thanks for the kind replys, it's a shame I can't produce the quality I want, I guess I will always be rubbish, I had such high hopes with this, paintwork has always been my achillies heal but this was perfect, I just had to ruin it with the door fit (when the doors are shut the front of the door is sticking out at least a mill from the front wing ) thinking of going back to scratch building (which means just ships, I have enough plans to last the rest of my life) or just plane give up modeling and go back to drawing (it's a hell of a log cheaper)

                Well KP...

I really like what you are doing here but I've been following your builds on quite a few forums for a long time.

I have to ask - WHY do you always drone on about your rubbish work, and giving up???
You do it all the time!

It's almost as if you are asking for people to tell you your work is good!

                You don't need to!
What you do is really great. If you aren't convinced, then ok - give up!

I'm sounding harsh here as you obviously have a low esteem in your own work.

                IT'S BL--DY GOOD.

                Have some self-belief.
You need a few more people to tell you that you build great models.
                Have confidence in yourself.
Forums can seem harsh when you get little or no response.

                SO WHAT!

                It's their loss, not yours.

You DO build great models - Your Citroen Traction is an example to any.
Don't seek praise - you DON'T need it.

You are one of the few that others want to follow.

                Accept it.

Well thank you, I think, I'm glad you like it but this is shelved, till I feel less like binning it. You are correct I think most of what I do is rubbish, reinforced by the fact that when I produce what I think is my best only for it to be completely ignored, my monogram dual cowl phaeton I thought was the best thing I ever did and no one liked it, yes I've sold a few things, but that's been to my boss so don't count one of my models was displayed in the local library for a while then they asked if I wanted it back as they were short of room, I took that to mean no one was interested, the only thing I do take pride in is the Greenwich maritime museum wanted my La Reale de France build but my boss bought it. Oh and welcome to the friendliest forum on the net bar none, and I really mean that.

Looks fine to me Ken. Its a karmann Ghia for Gods sake. The trim is ment to fall off and the doors shut poorly. LOL (An old neighbour used to have one).

As for any lack of attention here on the forum, I think you need to ask are you building something for our pleasure, or your own? Sod what other people dont say.
We are also our own worse critic. There are very few 'civilian kit' builders that I follow builds of as I am not that into building civilian models but you are one of them that I always look in on. I dont always comment but I am always looking.
