So my tool kit has arrived, is this gonna be much use? Any thoughts and advise is great.
Just waiting on the modeld now.

Hiya,

The tool kit will get you going I'm sure and as you progress in modeling other tools you may want will come clear.

I have only just got back in to modeling and there alot of kit out there now that I never new about.

It's the fujumi DC2 Integra Type R.

I did the school boy mistake of ordering the kit then doing reviews. Still, it's my first build. Hoping to learn a lot. Some of the work on here is amazing!

Nice choice mark , the DC2 integra is a total classic. Is the kit the UK spec with the round lights or the japanese single headlight version? the tool kit looks ok for a starting point , the only thing i would say you could add at this point are some wet n dry sanding sticks of various grade, when you cut the parts off the sprue youre going to need to clean up the attachment point stub.

I'll be ordering all my prep materials, glues and paints this week hopefully.

The kit is the jap spec with the rectangle lights. I'm a bit of a Honda fan boy so I'm excited to build this kit and hoping to do some mods on the way. I ordered some 1/24 bride seats. I only plan to change drivers seat for a more track focused look. I would like to cut the exhaust away from floor pan and make my own 3" style pipe. And I am toying with the idea of flocking the carpet in to the tub. (Start small amend all that)

Welcome Mark. Looks a decent kit. I am no car specialist and wouldn't know where to start in modifying one. I am currently building this.

Looks a good kit and build. Love the exhaust on this one. I was thinking styrene tube for the exhaust pipe and Rob a back box/muffler off some other car for a big bore.

White is the colour I wanted to use. Championship white is one of my favourite colour on any type r.

Just me lol, not a colour I like and never looks right to me in scale. Maybe I should drop the Tamiya gloss white and get some proper car colour matched white.

Hiroboy has some really good gear, i take it you airbrush the paint on your cars?

This is something im a little nervous to do, never sprayed before, i think ill get a second hand model to practice on. I have yet to buy the gun and compressor yet mind!

Hi guys,

Yet another update. I have been bored and my hands got twitchy. So I started on the car a little.

I have enclosed some images of the seat choices I have. I plan to keep the stock non type r seats for my second build(un sold on what yet) and use the bride resin seat with the photo etched rails as the driver seat. The recaro style is going to be painted in red as per the box art and used as a passenger seat.

I am not a fan of the out of the box wheels and would love a set of TE37 in 16/17" 1/24 scale. So I am going on the one the hunt for them. I also want some more "show" brakes as the kit ones are..... well.... naff!

Overall the kit has a decent amount of detail and I'm yet to see an imperfection on the car body. I'm happy.

I have attached a little unpainted mock up of the seats, because everyone loves a mock up right?

I also went to obtain some acrylic paint today so I can start on the little detail for the car.

Had a little test on the left hand drive version of the dash. Hasn't turned out great yet.

My practice dashboard hasn't turned out so bad after all. On with painting front seats and rear seats. Then the floor pan. And the carpets after.

I love the third party seat, very nice.

Takes time and practice to get things spot on, I am still trying and, hopefully, getting a bit better each time. I don't have a build thread for my current car kit. Not sure they make good subjects for build threads as I tend to find that most of the time is spent prepping, priming and painting a few bits at a time before assembling in sub sections to the point when all these sub sections come together in a final assembly. Not everyone would say the same but that is the way I prefer to do them.

Not done a kit from this manufacturer before, I must try one out.

Keep at it and keep posting. Few comments do not mean nobody is watching so keep posting and good luck with the build

I for one would follow a build thread of yours. I may learn a trick or two. Am I best priming the plastic even before brush painting? (Sorry if that sounds dumb, because I haven't been)

I am focusing On a few bits at a time. Interior will be done. Then underside, then I'll do the body, I'm doing that last as I need to buy all the airbrush gear.
