      Hi Raymond
The flimsy steering is a common problem with these car builds. I built an SS100 Jaguar and once I had decided how much of a turn I wanted on the steering I glued it all solid.

You can see how many pivot points there were and how loose fitting it all was.

well, heres a few more bits of the rolls, dashboard was warped ,so knocked a new one up, cut the instrument housing off the old one and glued it to the new dash. the join at the top of the dash was not perfect hence the chrome rail,, made the glove box and the two switches , before everything was glued on covered the dash and glove box with walnut burr. that was a job and half on its own ! rear part of the body is now glued in place as is the bulkhead, more pics to follow when a bit more has been done !

I'm not a petrol head but I want one of these- I love the paint finish on the wings .
Looks like you've done a few of these in your time , Raymond?
              Cheers

Agree with Neil on the dash board, has the look of a real Walnut Burr.

                Love it, well done .

hi neil, glad you like it, the walnut burr is a sheet of very thin decal, very easy to break, and akward to fit, just need a bit of patience !top of the doors have to be done yet, good job theres only two doors ! for the painting I used halfords spray paint, Vauxhall burgundy red,bmw jet black, satin silver, and grey primer,, two coats of primer, then rubbed down lightly when dry, then colour coats each coat rubbed down lightly when dry, three or for light coats, the last coat being a bit heavier to get a shine. when all the paint has hardened off, [ I left it for about a week ] it was all polished with a car wax to get a good shine, paint must be hardened or you will get finger prints in it, don't ask me how I know !,,any wax on surfaces to be joined must be wiped off or the glue wont stick . will take a few pics of walnut bur decal when I have a chance. hope that has answered your question . cheers

well, the old rolls is coming along nicely, will put some more pics on when the painted parts have hardened off, been concentrating on the wheels and here they are ready for assembly, had to sand the edge of the chrome centre parts a bit as they were to big, but wheels are ready for assembly now .

rolls being carpeted , didn't like the look of the plastic looking floorpan which was supposed to be light grey , so thought I would try a bit of felt. tried beige colour but it didn't look quite right so tried red, looks a bit better. just a bit of trimming to do and it should look a lot better, I hope !
