it look a nice kit, my initial feeling is that it will go together nicely, there is a nice set of decals and masks for all of the glass.

i have not built this kit (in fact Ihave never built a kit of a racing car before) so if anybody Knows anything about the kit - is it good/bad any problems to look out for, please let me know.

When I bought it I forgot the white gloss paint, so I nipped in again today - who would have thought going to a model shop and buying a jar of gloss white would be so satisfying!

Looks to have potential for sure. A quick look says this kit’s about £45 but can’t find how many parts?

Toby - that price looks right for the UK, mine cost £37.48 since we do not have VAT. A quick parts count is:

            sprue A: 39
            sprue B: 31
            sprue C: 48
            sprue E: 1
            sprue F:2
            clear sprue: 7
            Rubber tyres: 4
            decals: 103
            painting masks.

Peter - very, very different, and so far it is fun.

            here is yesterday's progress:

The seatbelts are quite nice decals.

a little disappointingly, the painting mask shees only has the shapes printed and not cut so a sharp knife is needed. Even more strange, the instructions indicate the mask should go in the inside of the windscreen.

Lateral thought , the windshield is polycarbonate on the real car.
could it be that the "glass" sits on the outside of the frame and is bonded to the shell in such a way that the clear polycarbonate sits with ''painted surface'' behind it.

                Good point Gary,

I think my lack of knowledge about these cars is clearly on show!
