I have been slowly working on this model and have completed the engine as far as it can be before it is fitted into the chassis.

Probably more pictures than necessary of the engine but what else will I do at this time of night?
Suspension, diff, headers and inlets.

A fair bit of painting to do on the chassis before any more construction.

Coming on nicely. I do have one car in the stash but not plucked up the courage to start it yet.....

Keep up the good work.

Wheels on to see how they look.

Underside finished except for the rear mudflaps.

Very small decals on dashboard, should have left the Micro Sol to dry before taking the picture.

Well that's the chassis all done now so just the bodywork to tackle.

I painted it a couple of days ago with the yellow colour but after fiddling about and swearing a lot I am beginning to think I don't have the necessary skills to mask the thing properly. The Tamiya masks for the wheel arches and front and rear panels and sills went on with not too much trouble, but trying to mask up the roof and parts of the rear pillars is driving me nuts so I have left it for now, tomorrow is another day and I may be in a better frame of mind.

Andy.

After a lot of muttering and mumbling last night, none of which can be repeated here, I finaly got the thing masked up and I painted it tonight. Not the best paint job as I havenot quite got the hang of Tamiya rattle cans yet but it will have to do.

The colour looks almost black but it is the called for paint on the instructions, the finned parts of the rear pillars and the window rubbers need painting black and a couple of touch ups on the wheel arches still to do yet. Hopefuly when all the decals are on and a coat of laquer it will look a bit better. I just noticed looking at the picture that I have forgotten to remove the masking from the boot lid spoiler.

Andy.

Nice work Andy. The yellow looks to have gone on nicely over the Blue black.

Actually, the blue went over the yellow as Tamiya provide masks for the wheel arches, sill panels, boot lid spoiler and the rear panel so you have to do it that way and mask all the other bits like the roof, front panel and rear pillars yourself.

That explains the excellent coverage then Andy :thumb2: Still looks good though.
