I saw one on fire too - all that was left was the engine block some wheel rims and a molten mess :tears-of-joy:

Sometimes restoration is the only way to go - I have just seen a poly-bagged Airfix 1/32 Bond Bug sell on eBay for £200.00 plus £7.95 p&p. No, it wasn't me who bought it as I already have a poly-bagged Bug.

Makes the Rosebud Kitmaster boxed Arial motorcycle Dave was tracking seem positively cheap……

Bonkers is the word, Andrew! It wasn't the only high price paid at the same time either. The same seller put up another three rare Airfix kits:

              Airfix 1/32 Austin Maxi - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353758028819 - £117.07 (14 bids) + 6.95 p&p

              Airfix 1/32 Victor 2000 Estate - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353758019102 - £170.51 (18 bids) + 6.95 p&p

              Airfix 1/32 Morris Marina - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353758001019 - £210 (37 bids) + 7.95 p&p

Once again I didn't bid on any of them as I have them in my stash already (he says smugly).

That's dare I say it...... Bonkers...... :smiling5: :surprised:

I have a 'wish list' of kits I want and I don't think it comes to £200, albeit I accept I normally only do 1/72...

I've got the box for one of those - price on it is 5/6d. Doesn't have the Vauxhall kit in it though, but it does contain a Merit kit for an Aston Martin DB3S! I think I have a similar Merit kit of a Jaguar C type somewhere...

I bought a constructed Victor 2000 Estate for a lot less than £170 and restored that too. You can see pictures here.

As somebody that learned to drive in an Austin Maxi and once owned a Morris Marina I can tell you that is more than they are worth in real life Dave LOL….
