Arse arse arse just tried a dry fit and the engine is a bit to high in the chassis so intercooler surround (shown on yellow car) won't fit- this will require surgery.

As pleasantly surprised by the paint finish though :-)

          I hate this now !

I'm made up with the body shell and paint finish, got exactly the finish I was after but far from pleased with engine & interior,

I'll re do dash & seats ( was trying to recreate the Alcantara patchy/shaded look of the real car)

Engine bay I'm need needing some help with,

I think I've just put too much paint on now and have lost detail, do I:

          Strip paint off (how?)

Or scrap it & start again, it's a £10 kit after all, re use this shell with a new interior?

Oh and I've managed to smear windscreen so think I've answered my own question now !

Damn, it's a shame about the windscreen Dave, could it polish out? If you're unhappy and will always look at it and feel unhappy then I would get another kit, strip back the old one as best you can and use it for practise. Nice finish on the shell though.

It's hard to see what the exact issue is from the pictures, but if you are unhappy strip it. Oven cleaner removes paint nicely, do a search on the forum there are tutorials about. It won't hurt you clear parts. I'd get that engine sorted before doing anything else. One little step at a time I find helps to rectify things. Annoying to have to redo it, but you have to be happy with it yourself.

When I use Tamiya synthetic lacquer (spray can), assuming you did, I make sure to make the final coat wet all over the part, no sign of surface uneveness at all, otherwise it will not be a hard mirror gloss.

Still no windscreen (have emailed revell but no reply yet bit thought I'd do a bit more,

Firstly it's had interior and engine bay stripped with oven cleaner & acetone nail varnish remover.

Cabin colour scheme changed to black carpets with dark grey/dash/seats & door panels

Engine bay looks much tidier (IMO)

And with the intercooler a WIP

It needs to look like this, closet blue I could find was a citadel one, quite pleased with match

And the obligatory dry fit shot (Bodyshell finished part from a polish) boy does it attract dust !

That looks pretty sweet Dave. Hope you get the screen soon, it'd be a shame not to get it finished after all that effort.

                      Little update,

Car is now done except windscreen which has been dispatched from Revell so will do a completed build slot then,

                      In the meantime :-)

You will have to put a clear coat on it. Metallic paints require it. Don't polish the metallic.

Sorry if you already know this

That's looking real nice but those wheels have to be changed not keen on them.
