              The tyres are actually solid resin.

              The basic shape was taken from a Revell E Type tyre to make a first 'rough'.

              All the outer detail was sanded off to make smooth walls and the tread was tidied up.

              After that, a rubber mould was made and resin tyres cast. They are painted using Tamiya rubber black - a very good 'real rubber' look.

              Each tyre has a flat spot filed onto the tread to replicate where the car is standing. I t also stops the model rolling away!

              BTW..... Many thanks you guys for all the kind comments.

              I might start a 1/8 Short-nose D Type soon, or a Lightweight E Type. (I love Jaguars!)
