tamiya starting rider

Here is tamiya's starting rider, which will be a figure of Eddie Lawson from 1984,i had to buy tamiya's straight run rider just for the helmet in that kit,as the one with the starting rider would be wrong for the Eddie figure, also decals on their way from hong kong

Ahhh, the good old days when they had to push start their own bikes off the grid whilst choking on 2 stroke fumes.

Hey Paul
Nice work on the Eddie Lawson figure. I see that the decal sheet has the option of Kenny Roberts too.

Cheers

Morning Paul, yes the sheet of decals has the option of Kenny Roberts, but the decals are for 1983,the figure im doing is 1984,and there are subtle differences to Lawsons leathers of 83 and 84 and the positioning of decals as well!!!!

Hi Paul
Did the GP riders really start their bikes from a push in 1984? I really can't remember. I do remember that era though as I was into bikes at that time owning a 350LC as a late teen.

Looking forward to seeing the bike and rider complete.
Cheers

Cool detailing.
Yeah, got a bit of a sweet spot for Yamaha myself. I started with an RD50 then 125 LC then the 350 but then went on to cars.
I think the Yamaha stripe is really cool. In fact I've got the YZR-M1 50th anniversary kit in the stash, which I look forward to building (one day).
The Marlboro red and white is also a sweet colour scheme so I'm really looking forward this build now.

Cheers

Wow, you definitely love Yamaha! I've just got the yellow version. The only other bike model I have is a Repsol Honda. I think it's the RC 213V although I'd have to check the stash.
The history of Rossi bikes is cool.
Cheers

Paul, not sure if i should post these pictures here,as its not the right topic, anyway, here goes, all my yamaha gp bikes, some are tamiya, some are minichamps, some are axo and some are Newray, all where applicable have had cigarette decals added, apart from Rossi's 2006 version, also the newray models are very basic,so have been detailed up,next on my shopping list is the hasegawa yamaha yzr 500 from 1988 and rode by Lawson, also all Biaggi's yamaha's as well
