    Morning chaps.

I'm still waiting for my braided hose, it's now been pushed back until the beginning of April, so nothing has been put together yet. I have been pushing on getting sub-assemblies together, so here is what I've been working on.

First up was the exhaust. I used AK Extreme chrome on this and ended up with an OK'ish result. I had to paint it a couple of times as I found the paint rubbed off the edges with handling, so I eventually sealed it with a gloss coat.

I also painted and glossed some of the body panels and the tank. These still need knocking back and polishing, but not a bad finish straight out the AB.

Rear frame and air intake for the blower.

    Wheels (silver bits hand painted).

And I got fed up with my Xacto knife rolling off the bench, so I made a new one that wont roll.

    Si vis pacem, para bellum.

Looking really good, especially that exhaust. You say you'll "knock back" the bodywork paint - I'm guessing you'll sand it back to a smooth matt finish, then varnish, then polish? How do you sand it without creating bare patches? Any tips?

            Cheers Paul.

It's already been varnished and is very smooth but I will give it a very light sanding with some 3000 grit micromesh, then go at it with a fine polishing compound and finally a wax or polish. Just need to keep everything light (especially on edges) to avoid burning through the paint. This is just to remove any dust spots and give it a mirror finish.

To be fair the finish is already pretty good I could probably leave it as is, but at the least will give it a polish.

This is a treat to see coming together. The painting is superb.

                    Hi Guys.

Long time no post. I'd found myself having a major mojo shortage so decided to come away from the bench entirely for a few weeks to recharge the batteries. It seems to have worked.

Got back to it by painting up a few small parts and also putting the front brake disks together. 25 PE parts per side, including multiple tiny metal pins.

Still waiting for the braided hose to come, now been put back to the end of the month. If it gets delayed again I may have top bench that idea and use the kit hose.

Excellent progress Bob. That is looking really smart, especially the different finishes on the component parts. The seat looks just like a full sized vinyl covered one, for example..

Gotta say Bob, your efforts have resulted in a very realistic looking front wheel and forks....
