American LaFrance Ladder Chief Fire Truck 1:25 scale.

Ok, so on to the next project.

This is a Matchbox/AMT American LaFrance Ladder Chief Fire Truck 1:25 scale model that I purchased on evilbay a good few months back.

Fully assembled model is 41cm in length, has a rotating turntable with 3-section nesting ladders extending to 92cm. Working stabilising jacks, 13 ground ladders and the body can be removed.

Parts are mainly red with a few grey parts and the chromed sprue also.

    Oh, and 300+ parts.

God knows how old this model is. The box has a © symbol dated 1979 Lesney Products & Could Ltd.

So I'm planning on doing a New York FDNY version of this truck. The decal sheet has a list of letters, so various FD's can be made.

I may also utilise a tube of AK True Metal Aluminium wax/paste, to use on the ladders, rather than just spray them with aluminium paint.

I've washed the parts, let them dry and have tried to straighten a few parts with my heat gun. After so many years stuck in the box, a few parts are a little warped.

So I hope to prime them sometime this week.

That is really cool. I have a yellow diecast one of those in 1/43, I didn't even know there was a kit out there. Looking forward to seeing your build.
