So a bit of an update on this project;

        I think i was trying to run before i could walk with the paint, because i'm building a "clean build" i did some practicing on an old bodyshell for the candy blue. After three goes i still need practice , so i'm not going to ruin the work i've done so far. I have some Vauxhall Arden Blue (de-canned) which is very close to the photo.

        Now then, the chassis is painted and the wheels are on. Didn't go over the top on the interior like i was going too, can't see much but what you can see i've made it look good. Started working on the body, with just a little cleaning up to do. And thats about it for now.

        Have fun, John

          That interior is looking a treat!! The wash and shading on the leather and trim are a nice touch.

          And the motor is outstanding!

              Hi all, now i have my eyesight back (thanks to conjunctivitis) i've been getting some work done.
              Reet, first things first. Was still waiting for bits & bobs turning up so i could get back at it but they was a no show, good thing though is my daughter now lives in Newark. And Newark has a very nice model shop, so i got all the things i needed. Evergreen styrene sheet, tubes and 1mm strip. Got home later and what is waiting for me? Sods law at it best.

              The styrene tube for the new straight pipe exhaust with a 45 degree splash cut at the top. Styrene sheet for the new deeper bumper and a 'V' shape sun visor, and the 1mm strip was to add a little more to the grill. The fuel tanks, exhaust and bumper are ready for chrome, and the sun visor will be going body colour (and it needs finishing lol).

                    Sorry i've not been around for a while, had a back fibro flare that took me off my feet. Slowly getting back to some sort of normality.

                    So where am i on the build, i've been using this shell for practice so i didn't fluff up the truck. And as you can see it's been sanded down a few times.......

                    After i plucked up the courage i got the airbrush out and added the colour, the base coat is a dark silver i mixed up then it was time for the blue. Don't think it turned out to bad so happy with that, next job is decals and some clear gloss....

                    I now know why i build armour, if i get glue everywhere i cover it in mud. But i take my hat off to all you "clean builders" with he amount of work you guys put into your work. Got to admit though, i am enjoying this build (if my body lets me lol). Sill need the practice and need to change the way i start a build, ie, not all guns blazing and follow the instructions

                    Have fun, John

                      Had a good session yesterday, the decals are on and so is the clear coat. It's not 100%, i'm still practicing clean builds but i am having fun learning new stuff.

                          Evening all, not much success airbrushing the chrome on the fuel tanks. Well, the Vallejo metal color is great it's just my sanding that needs work lol. So i cheated, i had some self adhesive chrome tape i got from my Dad some time ago. The fuel tanks are done and fitted plus while i was at it i did the sun visor too.

                          Just a little weathering on the tanks (well, i do build Armour so had to weather a tank ).

                              It's now finished, and as soon as i can get some good photos i will post them up. But for now, just the one pic.........

                              Very enjoyable build, loved every minute. A bit of a learning curve too as i'm an armour guy so needed to keep things "clean". Still need to improve some things if i want to build cars & trucks.

                              Have fun, John
