One step forward....As the saying goes.
Found a few things that could be better under the test fit. So what does one do.... Yep. Take it apart and correct the issue.
In all this there is just one, well two really, fit issues.
The headlamp clusters in the front lower section are aftermarket and the PCB with the LEDs for the side indicators are to close to the side panels that join the front at the step up to the cab. A session with a small file sorted that out.
Then on to the extra lights on the roof and front grill. I was not happy with the way the wires run outside so I drilled holes in the roof directly behind the five spots on the roof and four more into the grill for those mounted there.
Took a punt as to the rear guards could be assembled then fitted. They can. A good thing as now there are only two things to mount and paint and not the 10 that there was!
I also started to play with the radio bits to see how they could be placed. Masked off the re installed lights and the cabs windows/skylight. Threw a bit of paint at them.
Panels are being mounted up ready for paint. More about that later.
Take up a lot of room these RC trucks. lol.
Right then the paint. As said way back the main colour is Tamiya Pale blue Pearl. I want to keep it light so will most likely spray it over silver. The Scania Logo Or the Griffon Will be painted on in a gold of some tone and then the Pearl over the top of everything,
Hopefully the Gold on silver will give the Pale blue pearl a hue dark enough to be able to see it.
Sound like a plan?Comment

So those spoons from yesterday... they got hit with some of this:
Which after careful examination in both natural light, and in the booth. looked like this.
Please see photo above!!! Hardly any difference at all. I had even sprayed it on a spoon with just the same primer, no primer (black spoons) Bronze and copper.
So I think I can say that was a waste of time, effort and paint.
Tried to save them with some clear blue over a la candy... A cool colour but not the droid colour I was looking for.
Left to right, primer only. Silver leaf. Gunmetal. Gold leaf. Titan silver. Bronze. Copper and black.
Conclusion TS pale blue pearl is opaque! Bugger.
I Think My plan now is either just paint it with the pale blue, as to if I do it directly over the primer of do it silver first... don't know.
Or I find another colour. Just plain old metallic (or Mica as it's now often called).
I did manage to find the Graphic I was looking for. scale it and print it. Just need to cut a mask or three.... lol
Disappointed of Denmark...Comment
