    Heller Citroen Fourgon HY build

    Hi

Just thought i would start a thread on my first proper build for 30+ years. I have lots of kits but haven't got around to any of them so have finally decided to take the plunge. The kit looks straightforward enough, really like the instructions. Only slight downside is they don't recommend a colour for the outside, and also say paint inside to compliment outside. Thankfully the first part of the build is the engine so will give me a little time to decide what colour to go for.
Have given all parts a spray of grey primer, and will paint the rest by brush as i go. Tested a few acrylic paints but will keep this build simple and use Humbrol acrylics. Done some test on a couple of little test builds and finish looks good enough to me.

Good luck with the build David. I doubt the colour will matter as I'm sure all sorts were used and many would be repainted over the years.

Nice, there's something about this vehicle.
Just found this David might be of interest .
Very few commercial vehicles combine the style and long-lasting appeal of the Citroën H Van, we look at where it all began - and what's next.

A mate sold a completely rusted out one of these recently and then I saw a decent looking one whilst on holiday. I was wondering if anyone did a kit of it, and now I know :smiling3:

Sheer coincidence but I've just seen a Wheeler Dealer episode restoring one of these. It was an older episode as it featured Ed China. They changed the engine and kitted it out as a mobile food wagon

You used to see these around a fair bit when I was young, and there used to be one next to the village garage for (what in my memory seems like) several years. A common nickname for them in the Netherlands is wasbord, “washing board”, for hopefully obvious reasons

I did see that on the tv today. Heller do a 2cv as well which was on Wheeler Dealers, so may get that one down the line. Although they did do a Chevy Stepside truck and that is on my to do list
