I wanted the door on the cab to be open but this model was not designed for this, i have cut the door away and there is a big space where the 2nd and 3rd steps should be so i have mad a card template up for the steps and then i will make them out of plastic card when i am happy with them.

I am going to have to thicken up the door and the side walls of the cab since these look well to thin.

Thanks Polux, this is very much a make it as you go along, i have a very ruff idea of what i want but am looking for comments to help design it as i build.

          Thanks Trey and John,

the scratch build is only my template, tonight am building the one that will be fitted out of plastic card so that i can round off the edges light the bottom step.

Have not done much to this since i have been on holiday,

anyway have remade the card template with plasticard and that is as far as i have got, have plans to do some more in a mo

got to finish the join tp the bottom and second step then look at thickening the door up and inner walls of the cab around the door opening.

Here are some of the build so far

have made some batteries and the cables that i have yet to attach, looking at our old shunter one of the things that is missing is the battery box cover so wanted to show this since it would have been one of the things that would have either gone missing or broke

have also been playing around with the front plough thing, still not sure how that should look, either what you can see in the pictures or a split style like they have on snow ploughs, any suggestions welcome.

this build is taking longer than ever because i have just become a Granddad

Jason my vote would be the split style 'cow catcher' type. Congrats Grandpa welcome to the club!!!
