Thanks, yeah the mk5 cortina is my favourite, followed by the mk4 and 3 versions respectively.

As for the second mk4 cortina in my collection, I really want to make it a ghia version, taking spare wheels from vanguards mk3 as they have got it spot on. Whether it’s a ghia or L depends on if I can fix the front bumper - by that I mean if I can get the correct size number plate inbetween the overrides.

Undecided if the colour is going to be white with brown vinyl roof, or venetian red with coffee beige vinyl roof... because I’m really undecided I’d let someone from the forum decide!

Pics of sandglow marina should be up within next day or so.

Great work again. Vinyl roofs, I had just about forgotten about them.

Not sure there was a claim to make Colin. There were always huge signs saying you enter at your own risk so it might be classed as self inflicted damage.

Vinyl roofs were an excellent way of dealing with roof damage. The roof is so close to eye level you can see any slight ripples if it's painted, but a vinyl roof kit covers all!

Good point. With the roof curving in all directions, that would be a pain to remove any dents.

Some really interesting comments, thanks all. Good news is bumper is corrected so the red/coffee beige vinyl roof ghia is on... just will need time to do it, hopefully finish before end of month. Hoping to put sandglow marina pics up at some point today.

So here is the sandglow Marina then from vanguards - exactly the same methodology was used on this model as the blaze orange marina (refer to page 1) to make it look as realistic as possible.

I'm pretty sure it's a higher spec model than the blaze version as it has chrome around the wheel arches and a couple of side logos, both of which the blaze version has missing.

That’s lovely. My favourite mid seventies BMC colour as well…….friend of mine had one exactly like this. I seem to remember it having a fuel use indicator driven from the inlet manifold vacuum which was utterly useless.
