Very nice Bob! I've just finished the same one myself (It is the Tamiya 1/12th, yes?) It took a long while but I really enjoyed it. I'm reasonably happy with the results, although its not quite up to your standards (Can't seem to get the doors to 'click' shut amongst other things). I did the 1/24th Revell kit a while back when I was just starting back into the hobby so it was an interesting comparison. i had trouble with paint also (see my thread under ' Civilian cars under construction) and had to take most of the body back to plastic. I got there in the end , but if you look closely you can see differences in the tone between the body parts. But its a really nice kit with only some detailing necessary (Mainly replacement of the supplied black vinyl tubing with braided hose and fittings.)
I'm always playing ketchup with you Bob. I love the finish you achieved, even with the probs you had. The orange color really makes a race car stand out too. I just picked up a Tamiya kit for your GB coming up. I'll just steal all of your great skills/tips when I build it...
