    1968 Firebird 400

This is in my opinion some of the best work I’ve ever done. I laid down three coats of metal flake blue six coats of clear then I wet sanded from 3000 all the way up to 12,000 grit sandpaper then a polished with fine then finish polish then I did a full wax job. Click image for larger version

Looks great! Did you use a black primer?
A lot of people say you should spray metalics over a matt black base, but I've never seen much difference myself. Probably just my poor eyesight.

I used gray primer for this blue because I wanted a little bit darker tone from the paint. I’ve used white and red and gray and black primers underneath different colors and I can tell you from experience. It does make a difference. The same color yellow will be much darker in tone with a black primer than if I used the same paint with white primer. I have two yellow vehicles that prove it.

I want to thank everyone for the kind words.
No, I’m just a mediocre model builder and mine will never look professional from the inside out but as a guy once told me, I make the model of my own and paint them and build them the way I like instead of the way the box says to.
