    AMT Surf Woody modified

This is from the 'Under Construction' thread.

Conclusion, I need to learn more about weathering, or is it just wet sand!

Thanks Monica, I had to print off a beach scene as a backdrop. I'm still not absolutely confident with weathering, even after 60 years of model building! That's because everything had to be pristine and clean and glossy.

Thanks Scott. I look at so many images each day even to waking up at 4 am each morning just to write down things I'm thinking about in case I forget them. I like to build a kit as I would have it as a real vehicle. Some builders stick rigidly to the rules, perhaps frightened to change things whereas I need to be creative.

Yes I spray either the acrylic or enamel colour onto a clear plastic yogurt pot lid, leave it to dry out a bit and then stipple it onto the vehicle, so it looks a bit lumpy sandy!

Thanks Polux, I think the purists are horrified to see a kit like this 'messed about' but that's how I would like it in real life!
