    My 'previous life' F1 collection.

Just to put my name out there, here are a few of my initial forays into the model building world. These are all more than 10 years old, and currently sit in a box awaiting their gearboxes and rear wings to be reattached. Looking at them closely, there's already much I know I could do better now, but they still look lovely to me. I'm an F1 uber-nerd since the mid-70s, and particularly the 80s, so they're (to me) the most beautiful machines.

The Ferrari is the first I did, and these are pretty much in order. I'll try and add a bit more detail once I've got it (I used to just unpack and go!).

Looking back, the Tyrell 6 wheeler and the Lotus 78 (obviously) are the two finest in my opinion.

I still have a couple more in stash, and might knock them off before embarking on the Cutty Sark project.

Have to say, I think these Tamiya 1/20 kits are superb, the detail for the size, especially the drive train, is lovely. I wish I could afford the 1/12 kits; I have the Ferrari 312T kit but know there are damaged/missing pieces sadly, but the bits I completed on it were seriously nice.

          Andrew,
nice collection! I did make the Tamiya Braun Tyrrell Honda a couple of years ago - nice model, and I have the Tammy Honda 1965 272 sitting in the stash. Many years ago ( 30+ ) I made the 1/12 Wolf Ford. I cringe now to see the prices for these models ( £100 + ), and what a mess I made of such a nice model!

Ouch, that Wolf has been on my wishlist since the start. I always wanted to make a larger scale Cosworth, and their detailing is almost exquisite. I keep an eye out in case someone is selling one cheap somewhere.

Nice F1 collection. I especially like the 312T and the 72. I’ve got a fair few 1/20 F1 kits in the stash (including the MP4/13 and the Ferrari F310). I look forward to building them as getting that ‘showroom finish’ is very different from the weathered armour or aircraft projects I usually tackle.

                  Welcome to the forum!

                  Cheers
                  Paul
