    Fujimi 1/24 Ford GT40 Mk.11

Just about done now - been a long time completing as I have been locked down away from modelling !

Build thread below . I doubt I will choose another Black car to play with the paint work shows every imperfection of which there are many ! Not too bad in the end with just Tamiya aerosol .

I don't build cars for the exact reason of paint finish - and you painted probably the most difficult colour out there - top marks for that. Having said that, as the real thing will never be parked in my garage, errm just not enough room you understand, I might have to have a go at one of these. What you have created here is quite inspiring.

        Well done.

Only now do I realise thar the GT40’s were predominantly right hand drive! Who knew?
Seen this car many times and brain never registered. A well made kit and ping....!

Q: is the rear glass more than one piece? I hate glueing glass on glass!

You are correct ! The car was conceived and built in the UK and then finally tested and raced from teams based mainly in the US but also UK . There is a great book detailing the history and the race build up to their victory in 1966 called
Go Like Hell: Ford Ferrari and their Battle for Speed and also the film is great if you haven't seen it yet? LeMans '66 with Matt Damon and Christian Bale.
ps the glass is one piece with opional flat screen !
