Hi again!
This is my first Kawasaki model, the 2010 ZX-10R which raced in Suzuka 8 hours in the special Evangilion 01 livery. As an EVA fan I was very excited to build this kit. It was also my first non-Tamiya bike. This kit was from Fujimi and the build quality was, as I experienced, not as good as Tamiya kits in terms of seam lines and big gate marks. After all it was down to ourselves to clean and fix the parts before painting so it wasn't too much of an issue.
For this build, I used some of the photoetch parts from a Detail-up set by Top Studio, including the metal muffler and springs, front and rear discs, and a clear tube for the fuel tank. I didn't bother using the rest of the detail set.
I painted the green stripes with Tamiya X-15 Light Green because I was't happy with those decals in the package. Some sponsor decals were not the exact sizes as the real bike but overall they looked good.
I messed up with the front light cover.... When I cut it off the spure I left a terrible mark So I had to sand it. However I could get the glossy finish back no matter how hard I tried, and some glue became visible due to careless. So in the end it became a piece of frosted glass with some 'fogging' inside. I tell myself this is ok as it may be just like how it looked after an 8h endurance race.
Hope you enjoy this build!
