    Tamiya - 1/12 - Yamaha XV1000 Virago

    Hello,

There is my latest finished build. Quite easy and had no problems with the build. Decided not to do the factory paint job as I didn't like the maroon. Instead, I've painted it in Alclad2 Cobalt Blue.

    Enjoy

      Nice bike Bart,

really like the paint job, great choice of colour.

those golden painted parts are given it that extra touch.

Saddle looks so real just love it

      Cheers Richi

I'm not a big fan of bikes, either real ones or models, but that looks fantastic. Very realistic.

A quick glance and you could believe it was a real, full-size bike.

                  5 stars here!

Thanks for all good words. It could have been better, but somehow I didn't wanted to work harder on it lol.

The tank is damaged at one side, that revealed when I put the laquer on, but it's not that bad. What I should have done better is exhaust. I had to rechrome it and didn't do my best :/

And brakes discs are not shiny and the holes in discs are not really holes

Plus there is no wash at all..

                          But thanks

And the admission to these faults is down to one thing...you, nobody else had noticed as the build comes across brilliantly. As a modeller we all tend to nit-pick or wish we had done more, nature of the beast I suppose. It looks superb and better than I could have done and many others so be proud...we are.
