AC Shelby Cobra 427 s/c from Spinout movie question.

Hi peeps,


I'm just about to embark on my next build of a Revell Shelby Cobra, it's going to represent the one that featured in the Elvis Presley film 'Spinout '. Things is though that whilst perusing the Web I found a few good pictures, some from the film and some studio publicity shots. I've posted a couple of those pics on here and would like your input on the second picture. The first pic shows Elvis racing in the Cobra against Shelly Fabares (Cynthia) in a 1960 Ferrari 250GT, the second pic shows Elvis looking a tad forlorn sitting on the rear deck of what is supposed to be a Shelby Cobra, thing is that it isn't, it's an open top sports car that's been dunked in the water but what is it?. I'm just wandering if any of you out there know what car it is.

Why there's three of the first pic I don't know, but hey Ho!

Hmm, think I may have just found out what it may be.......apparently it's a Microplas Mistral, a fibreglass body over a Austin Healey chassis.[ATTACH]123021.IPB[/ATTACH]
