That Y-type definitely looks close, but like Tim says, the panel behind the door is clearly too short. Still, I have the impression we’re on the right track

That narrows it down Tim and Jakko, it is either a '35, or a '36. if the 34 quarter panel and window are not long enough then it is one of the two I mentioned. The '37 and up will not have headlight buckets as they are faired into the fenders.

A possibility is a Ford 8, based on the Y type but updated. I noticed in the picture of the car upright, it has a disc type wheel on the front, not a wire wheel or spoked, any ideas?

Late '30s Fords didn't have wire wheels. I think the last was '34 or'35.

I think I’ll settle for “a 1935 or 36 Ford” as the closest we’re going to get
