    Kyosho Alpha 2 diff trouble.

    Hi all,

Looking for advice on Kyosho Alpha diff problems.

Both the front & rear differentials on my Alpha have been giving repeated trouble, loss of drive due to pinion shaft moving away from the crownwheel.

There seems to be a lot of lateral movement in the crownwheel/diff assembly within the casing.

I have got 3 used diff units from other cars & they all seem to have the same problem.

Has anybody else had this trouble ?

Is there anywhere I can get uprated parts to cure this ?

Please help as I am at my wits end with this problem.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Mtyn2 and welcome to the site,

Sorry for the delay in replying - have been busy with Helicopters recently.

Anyway back to the problem, not really come across this with the cars I have run except for worn diffs, usually solved by replacing with a new diff - the alternative is to fit a washer in on the shaft if you can to take up the slack. Worth a try.

    Hope this helps

    Regards.........Mark.

      Thanks for that

Just finished fitting brand new front & rear diffs to the car.

Didn't get a chance to try it out yet though, hope it will be OK.

Heres a few pics of the car with a new Carson Audi Quattro shell fitted

Let me know what you all think ?

Sorry about pic quality, crap phone camera.
