Hi Jim
Looking for the ones you suggested I look at I stumbled on this one and can I say " truly this is what war is all about, it's dirty it's horrendous and pointless.
What are the Wehrmacht fighting for " freedom" freedom of what'? To live in this a squalor of wartime mess!
With this dio you have recreated the suffering it has taken and given to others, the point to what it's all about ( it is pointless)
The elephant is in perfect order well used and well camouflaged for the city use and to fire from a few derelict houses.
Even though the Wehrmacht are having a rest you can still see them looking in anguish to the sky's thinking once our proud Luftwaffe was above but now this near the end where are they....... Like most of Germany.... Destroyed for what! ( but a soldier keeps his thoughts to himself in these troubled times
Now the base you have created is a work of pure genius and it shows in the rubble the dead body the mutilation, burnt out tank and derelict car, the two German vehicles only add to the splendour of this build. Detail is so on the button you must have studied hard to get the colours and effects just right. All the extra kit and camp nertting is so effective in bringing this dio to the front of brilliance.
So to sum up this dio it's very factual of what war does.

I've been staring at this shot, in particular...
There is so much detail, and little narrative traces of a greater horror and, of course, chaos. The quality of your painting is all in this shot, not to mention your powers of observation. Unbelievable! I've got a few "Military Illustrated Modeller" magazines here, that often feature gold medal winning dioramas, and one cannot deny that they demonstrate extraordinary skills, but, and it's a big but, they are caricatures, they show nothing, not one iota of the human story. I know that this is a personal and subjective thing, but I agree with Peter, your dioramas are the business!Comment
