Operation Market Garden , 20th september 1944 ( redone photos)

Operation Market Garden was a plan devised by Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery, his plan to drop 35,000 British and American troops into Holland to capture the bridges at Eindhoven, Nijmegen and Arnhem in hope of crossing the Rhine into the Ruhr in Germany and taking control of there industry

    The plan failed!

The British at Arnhem were supposed to be relieved after two days by the British xxx corps tank brigade but due to ignored intelligence from the Dutch underground that bittricks 2nd ss army was resting in the Arnhem area , the British at Arnhem were surrounded they faced a brutal onslaught

On the 20th September a ceasefire was agreed to let over 200 British and German casualties to taken out of the battlefield

That is fantastic Al. Nice composition, excellent building and painting of all of the component parts. Not to heavily weathered. Looks just right to me.

That is a nice diorama Alan and placing it on the rippled glass, makes it really stand out, but I couldn't help thinking that it was a raft, floating on water ops: But top marks, it captured the scene very well. One of my uncles (mother's youngest brother) was killed at Arnhem, but that was before I was born and I never got to know him.
