    1/72 Spitfire RAF dio

A few piccies of a dio i completed a while ago.

Just a couple of cheapo spitfires with some 1/72 Airfix RAF personel.

Tried to simulate the temperary runways that were apparently used throughout the war, not sure if i managed it though.

          Thanks chaps,

I tried to put a few "incidentals" in there ... pilot waiting for his plane to be refueled/armed, chappy cycling into the field, officers keeping an eye on things etc etc.

Quite pleased with it (apart from the doubt about the tarmac as i've said... looks better in real life actually, still not great though).

Very nice work ,especially like the 'incidentals' really brings it to life!

A nice busy dio! and in 1/72. I think aircraft are to small for my fat fingers and sleepy eyes. the thought of painting figures in that size is scary!

By the way that is one gorgeous dog in your avatar!!

Thanks for the comments chaps, the aircraft are not exactly bang on with camo pattern and all the geeky details, i'm not that knowledgeable in what was what etc, i'm in a position now where if it looks ok to me then thats fine.

I may have a go at doing something thats historicaly accurate now i'm back in the swing of this modeling lark.

My eyes need some 2x glasses help, fingers are not too bad for my age i have a diorama ongoing that has 140 1/72 figures in it depicting a scene from the Boer war on a 2ft square base, taking some time to do, i keep going back to it on and off.
