    1/76 Revell's Monty's caravan & scout car

For me the kit was a shade too small and too "chunky". It really made me appreciate those here who work at 1/87. I at least have the satisfaction of finishing it :tongue-out3:

Onwards and upwards. Thanks for all your support.

I agree on "chunky". A condition prevalent in some 1/72-1/76 makers. The main reason I went with 1/87 back in the day. 1/72 has come a long way since. You certainly made a good job of some iffy raw material. PaulE

        Superb work Jim,
the vehicles look excellent and the scene is just enough to tell a story.
And you’ve got to remember these are old kits...but you’ve made the most of them....Nice one:thumb2:

Keep an eye on some of the more recent 1:72 kits....there are some real gems available nowadays.

Superb looking duo Jim, the extra's you've put in like the interior show that a old kit still can be a stunner with a little work.:thumb2::thumb2:

I can see what you mean about chunky, particularly the steps up to the back of the caravan.

But you have still turned out a nice little diorama.

                Wow Jim,

I can only echo what the others have said! You have turned out a little gem here. The wood and the base set it off even more Sir. Who cares about chunky when it looks this good!!!

So, what's up your sleeve next, besides the toon GB???

                Prost

A very nice build and I like the terrain. I've got an 88 and tractor in 1/76 I have to build a desert diorama for.

Matchbox do tend to be a bit chunky and simplified in places but still turned out well Jim :thumb2:

Gentlemen - your kind comments have really cheered me up. Many thanks. I feel happier about it. I am sure that with more skill and experience, especially at this scale, more could be made of the kit.
                        Thanks again.

Stunning base and vehicles Jim!! Like it a lot. You have certainly captured a moment in time. The figures are great and there is a lot for the viewer to see. All done on a eye squinting 1 87 scale. Wonderful. Go and have a well earned rest and a well deserved whiskey on the rocks.

Always liked small scale dios, Jim and yours is well done with well executed placement and composition. Enjoyed following the interior decorating of Monty's caravan... must have been "moider" for your eyes.

                              Cheers,
                              Richard
