Misery Loves Company

Well folks, finally finished it.
It's a big job running this place, many distractions, too many to list, but I did manage to get er done.
Hope you like, don't know how many of these I got in me anymore. Should have used a bigger base, but oh well.

Well Jim you gone and pulled another one out of the hat. I can almost hear the guys talking.
The guy in the blanket/tarp. "I just want to get home"
The one in the motor "God damned engines a piece of junk".
The guy looking in the stowage. "I know it's in here some place"
The two talking. "So how bad is it?
" oh it's bad. If it was a horse I'd shoot it and have a good dinner"!

A diorama should tell a story and this one does just that!

Great work Jim and I look forward to the next one.

Thank you Ian, glad you like. I do have a huge dio in the works with a Dragon Wagon and at least three other vehicles.
I have a lot done on it already but oh so much more to go :flushed: Oh well best get cracking on it, will post an update soon
barring any drama around here which we never seem to be in short supply of.

Been having predator problems with the livestock lately much more than in previous years.
Hunting has fallen off drastically in the last few years, for who knows what reasons, economic or folks just saving their ammo.
Result has been a boom in the deer populations and so the predators.

Looking into non-lethal deterrents but push come to shove........:sad:

That's a keeper Jim.....sorry to hear of the predator problems. They cycle in and out of my neck of the woods as well.....our Bear population has grown a lot over the past few years and now it's Mountain Lions......with that the Deer have become scarce. There was one "Cat" harvested up the mountain behind my place, but that was last Fall. Looking forward to the "Dragon Wagon" Diorama. Rick H.

Thank you Andrea, I always try to capture the "misery" and grittiness of life in the field in war time,
the uglier the better.
Dios don't always have to be actual scenes of combat, there is also the un-ending boredom and mind numbing tedium.
I was big on producing dios of the brutal aftermaths and horribleness of war, many are sprinkled about the site
if one wanted to seek them out.
I've seemed to mellow a bit as of late with my subject matter...too the relief of many I should think:smiling4:

Ah, I love this! I'm drawn to the figures especially - so well rendered and the positioning is so good, the fit is perfect. The two figures standing and talking are brilliantly executed. It would have been so easy to place them both looking at each other, to make the conversation between them obvious, but having one looking down is genius - it's a passive, resigned stance, you can absolutely tell they're mulling over a knotty problem, time is dragging on, there's no prospect of a quick solution.

I'd just love to see this for real, and be able to give it the time it deserves. Great stuff!
