I am calling this one DONE “Taking a Break” 1/35 Syrian Army T-72A “Labna” ca. 2013

Two years in the making and grew form another project.

The build process can be found here https://www.scale-models.co.uk/threa...ca-2014.37433/

Story: Two crewmembers are taking a break form general tasks around the vehicle in an area behind the fighting during the Syrian Civil War. The lads have devastated a former FSA – area and one is keen to celebrate with a nice “V- for victory”- Selfie but his mate has other plans………

Model is Trumpeteer figs are Paracel LOTS of scratched elements here including turret interior, building sidewalk, the open ammo crates lots of debris etc, also used was accessories from Royalmodel, Machone and others – just ask….

I have captioned some of the pics. Enjoy

    Cheeky....

Provisions on the engine-deck need to be loaded - the red six-pack is an arab brand of Coke - same as the lads are drinking.

although we are in a rear area under control of the Regime personal weapons are kept handy...

More tasks left undone....the carousel is left hungry

"Under new Management" - former Free Syrian Army territory as evidenced by the flag on the roller Gate, now the facade is adorned with pro- Assad graffiti and a stenciled portraits of the despot...

this used to be s shop

The shop owner has been piggy-backing the grid - this is often seen in the Middle East

Various detail shots of the interior - pardon the poor quality of some of these

scratched shattered ceiling fan gas bottle

electrical installation torn from the ceiling

    Satellite dish connection - disconnected......

Debris of all sorts litter the street

Labna means "brick" in Arabic filled in the rebar- cage and used as a very desperate measure against RPGs often in conjunction with sandbags (lots of variations on this theme...) also the diy stand - off armor on the sides are filled with panels, pavement slabs wall sections etc. to add protection to the armor

I am pretty happy with this and do pæan to compete with this and "SNIPER" another Syrian Civil War - themed dio - check the entries here.

Hope you liket it and please leve a comment , criticism etc is welcomed.

Watched a video of the street fighting in Syria and that dio is so much like it - very realistic indeed. Outstanding work.

Truly a marvelous piece of work! :thumb2: Speaks volumes to the situation portrayed and should be a real eye grabber in any level of competition. Good luck with your future entry.
