Thanks Ron for ur comments, i think this is what i've been wating for, a little pick up so i know im partly on the right track, as i said befor it's my first time and i only have two brushes five pots of paint and what ever i can find around the house, all my wethering is done with a pencil & cottenbuds, i dont have a spray gun just a can of white primer i had left over from work i did on my 4X4 & body filler, (wife borrowed the 4X4 when it snowed say no more).

John, to my way of thinking and what I have found in practice, good though they are, you don't neccessarily need all this and that pigment and other such stuff. Perfectly acceptable results can be obtained without them. They can aquired when you feel ready to.

Similarily an airbrush, I don't have one, but when you feel ready to get one the lads on here will tell you all you need to know about them.

You say it's your first time modelling, so the only advise I can give is take your time. Just look, learn and enjoy. That's why we are all here!

Don't get frustrated when your efforts are perhaps not what you wanted. You will do better with the next project.

The main thing, as John (Centurion3RTR) always says is...Have fun.

Thanks Ron i will take ur advice. this is what i was thinking of doing for my dio, sorry about the bad pic as i did it on my PC Paint and i'm not that good with it but it gives you some idea of what i'm thinking of. The tank is dug in and there will be a support team with it plus tank crew, ammo boxes and that sort of thing. what u think.

          Hope u like.

          John.

More parts arrived today for my Tiger, 4 issues the front armour, both side armour plate, rear upper deck, plus a back issue No 14 with AA machine gun ( i just wanted a spare one, asked for replacement as it was bent so sent me a freebe).

Just recived issues 21,22,23,24 took 10 min's to build now got to wait 4 weeks for the next lot.

All will be sprayed later as this saves time scraping paint off to glue parts together.

Hi John,i've subscribed to the Tiger as well but i've only started the build(did the barrel then put all the other bits in a box until i can get some of my stash built and get some practice with the airbrush) so i'll be watching with great interest, cheers cliff.

Welcome Cliff, as im sure you know this will be a long thread, the tank is not hard to build, the only thing i can advise you on is drill out the holes a bit iff your screwing into Alumin as the holes are a bit to small and the screws wont go all the way in, other than that it's plain sailing (i hope).

                        Hi John

I've just caught up with this thread. You seem to have a nice kit underway. To my mind you are in fact building a very late Tiger with monocular gun sight and 40mm roof. A mid Tiger is typified by having rubber tyred wheels as apposed to the all steel wheels of a late Tiger. It is possible that the machine could have been rebuilt with a late turret but I think this unlikely. It's difficult to tell without seeing any of the hull. Your build seems to be coming along nicely and the detail is very good.

keep up the great work this dio is going to be special.

                        All the best Paul

Don't know if your interested but I'm doing a late Tiger conversion from the Tamiya RC Tiger at the mo.

Recived issues 25 to 28 to-day, 1 exhaust stack & cover, reare armour plate, tow cable & fittings, plus bits & bobs.

Well that took 25 min's to sort out, the exhaust stack & inner cover is not glued in place as it still needs work.

Quick Q & A for u tiger dudes, which of the two tow cable's do you think would be better to use, the one supplied is the brass one the other one is what i use for my R/C stuff ??.
